The Gulfstream G500 private jet earned the best reputation in business aviation by consistently creating aircraft that meet traveler’s evolving aspirations. With the G500, Gulfstream strikes an optimal balance of speed, maneuverability and comfort that helps passengers maximize every minute of their travel time.
The all-new Gulfstream G500 stretches the limits of high-speed travel. The advanced airframe design and powerful Pratt & Whitney Canada engines give the aircraft a range of 5,000 nautical miles/9,260 kilometers at Mach 0.85. The G500’s nonstop reach connects distant cities such as Istanbul to Cape Town, South Africa; Los Angeles to London; and San Francisco to Tokyo.
Payload isn’t sacrificed for speed and range. A fully fueled G500 covers 5,000 nautical miles/9,260 kilometers at Mach 0.85 with eight passengers and luggage.
Double the payload and the G500 still flies up to 4,600 nautical miles/8,519 kilometers nonstop, enough to fly from São Paulo, Brazil, to Madrid.
The a width of 7 feet 11 inches/2.41 meters and a height of 6 feet 4 inches/1.93 meters, the all-new Gulfstream G500 cabin is the optimal size and shape to help produce best-in-class speed, maneuverability and fuel efficiency, yet it’s still large enough to carry 19 passengers.
Pedestal-mounted conference tables provide stability for working and are height adjustable. High-speed communications and entertainment equipment allow the cabin to double as an office in the sky or a media room.
The cabin environment influences the travel experience while airborne and upon arrival. The all-new G500’s 12 large Gulfstream panoramic windows provide captivating views and bathe the cabin in natural light. Only 100 percent fresh air, replenished every two minutes, fills the cabin.
Gulfstream acousticians engineered the interior to be quiet enough for passengers to converse in normal tones even while in flight. The interior is pressurized to no more than 4,850 feet/1,478 meters, even at a maximum altitude of 51,000 feet/ 15,545 meters.
The combination of clean, replenished air and a low interior altitude helps reduce the effects of jet lag so that passengers arrive feeling more refreshed and alert.
Choose from the finest materials, such as handmade carpets of silk or cashmere, hand-stitched leather dyed to any color found in nature, and wood veneers sourced from around the world. Complete the look with fine porcelain, flatware and crystal stemware that sets an elegant tone. Gulfstream design teams will assist throughout the new cabin design process.
Plan to pack liberally, too. The G500’s best-in-class baggage volume includes fold-down shelving and space that can be individually configured to store golf clubs, ski gear or bulging suitcases. Each cabin seat is equipped with built-in storage as well. At centraljetcharter.com/gulfsteam-g500.html can be chartered for $5,100 per hour and up.

The $43.5 million G500, Gulfstream’s long-awaited replacement for the $41 million G450, is making its NBAA debut only six months after its first flight.
With the Gulfstream Cabin Management System, the cabin experience is further enhanced because passengers control lighting, window shades, temperature and entertainment with touch-screen devices from their seats.
Gulfstream is leveraging the technologies it developed for G650, including its 3-axis fly-by-wire flight controls and a scaled-down version of the $65 million flagship’s wing, plus its larger wide oval windows and roomier space between seats.
Gulfstream’s G500 / G600 customer advisory board provided more than 200 inputs on cabin layout, galley design and storage areas, along with seat comfort and cabin systems utility.
The newest member of the Gulfstream family is designed to fly 5,000 nm at Mach 0.85 and 3,800 nm at Mach 0.9.
It offers a larger cabin, much-improved fuel efficiency, lower interior noise levels and better operating economics than G450.
Concurrently, development of the $54.5 million G600, the larger-wing, longer-fuselage, 6,200-nm-range derivative of G500, is well under way.
The Gulfstream G500 will carry up to 19 passengers and have the same cabin cross section at 91 inches wide and 74 inches tall. Cabin altitude will be 4,850 feet at FL 510, the same as the G650 and among the best in the biz jet industry.
Max speed in both models is targeted at Mach 0.925, also the same as the G650. The G500 will have a max range of 5,000 nm, while the G600's max range is targeted at 6,200 nm.
Gulfstream has built two new factories for the airplanes, each with more than 400,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
The company is targeting the G500's first flight for sometime next year, with certification planned for 2017 and first deliveries in 2018.
First flight of the G600, meanwhile, is planned for 2017, with certification in 2018 and initial deliveries 2019.
Projected completed price for the G500 is $43.5 million while the G600 will sell for $54.5 million.
The G500 can fly 5,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.85 or 3,800 nm at Mach 0.90. That makes it capable of cruising from New York to Geneva at Mach 0.90 and New York to Buenos Aires at Mach 0.85.
Carrying up to 19 passengers each, the G500 has three living areas, and the G600 has up to four, as well as an optional crew rest.
The Gulfstream G500 and G550 are business jet aircraft produced by General Dynamics' Gulfstream Aerospace unit, located in Savannah, Georgia, USA. They are variants of the Gulfstream V. There are nine G500s, and 198 G550s in active service as of January 2009.
The G500 was designed for an emerging market of customers who require the reliability of the G550, but neither the range nor the level of interior customization.
The aircraft’s uniquely shaped cross-section translates to plentiful elbow and shoulder room for seated passengers while also offering plenty of headroom as passengers move about the cabin. The 27-inch-/68.5-centimeter-wide seats include an articulating footrest for comfortable reclining.
The G500, a variant of the G550, certified by the FAA in 2003. It was introduced into service in 2004.
Gulfstream this morning revealed the company's future direction with the official unveiling of a new family of technologically sophisticated business jets, the clean-sheet G500 and G600 models.
Resembling the flagship G650 in outward appearance, the new airplanes feature a long list of surprising changes and improvements inside and out.
Both will fly with versions of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PW800 turbofan engine family, a major change for Gulfstream after decades in partnership with Rolls-Royce.
Gulfstream also announced that both airplanes will feature wings built by Gulfstream in Savannah, Georgia, Honeywell Symmetry avionics with 10 integrated touchscreens spread throughout the flight deck, and active-control side sticks instead of traditional yokes.
Perhaps most important of all, both will also incorporate the same huge oval windows that are a signature hallmark of the G650.
The Gulfstream G500 and G600 are new additions to the company's product portfolio that won't replace the G450 and G550.
The Gulfstream G500 is one of the newest private jets that Gulfstream makes.
The Gulfstream G500 goes for $5k an hour and up and can seat up to 15 passengers.

Large panoramic windows welcome light into the cabin while acoustical advancements produce a quiet, soothing experience.
Gulfstream established four labs dedicated to the G500 program and completed some 34,000 hours of tests on the ground.
Gulfstream has solidified its position as the leading large-cabin bizjet maker in the world, underscoring its commitment to performance, comfort, efficiency, safety, reliability and support.
As a shorter range version of the G550, it has the same exterior appearance, as well as the Plane View cockpit, but does not have the Enhanced Vision System (EVS) as standard equipment, although it is available as an option.
It has a lower fuel capacity than the G550 for a range up to 5,800 nautical miles (10,700 km).
The G500 cabin is set up to have three living areas, and the G600 will have four. The cabins will be 7 feet, 11 inches wide (which is seven inches wider than the G450’s cabin), and 6 feet, 4 inches high.
With space to work, relax or recharge, the all-new wide-cabin G500 is designed to be as accommodating and functional as your home or office.
